Advances in Neurodevelopmental Disorders - Underrepresented Caregivers in
Research on Prenatal Alcohol Exposure: A Meta-Analysis and Scoping Review
The results of this study suggest that (a) non-adoptive parents, (b)
caregivers who were male, non-White, non-partnered, less educated, and living
outside of the United States, and (c) caregivers of adolescents, and caregivers
raising children with PAE who have not received an FASD diagnosis are currently
underrepresented in the research; however, this literature is limited and
requires further research.

This is the first report describing that pharmacologically relevant alcohol
levels suppress ribosome biogenesis, induce nucleolar stress in neuronal

among AI women. The interview findings offered a glimpse into the effectiveness
of Native CHOICES and how it contributed to participants making healthier

mental illness and substance use among US pregnant individuals, 2012-2021
Pregnant individuals with greater severity of mental illness were more
likely to engage in substance use. Evidence-based educational, screening and
treatment services, and public policy changes are warranted to mitigate the
